Product Description This 2-way in-wall loudspeaker delivers powerful, clear JBL sound in a space-saving package. Optional snap-together rough-in frames (RIF6) available separately for new construction.
Amazon.com Product Description Think in-wall speakers can't compete with free-standing bookshelf or floorstanding speakers? Think again. JBL's SoundPoint SP6 in-wall speakers are easy to install and capable of filling a room with rich, powerful, engaging sound. Whether you want to spread music through the house or make that home theater system disappear from sight, JBL's SoundPoint SP6 speakers will get the job done. The speakers each use a 6.5-inch titanium-laminate cone woofer with rubber surround for tight, full bass for extended listening sessions. Elliptical Oblate Spheroidal (EOS) waveguides imbue sound with spaciousness and definition, and the speakers use titanium-laminate tweeters to reproduce high notes with extraordinary clarity. The speakers were designed to be easily installed using just a pencil, a Phillips number-2 screwdriver, a measuring tape, a utility knife, a carpenter's level, and an awl. You'll need to choose your speaker cable to match your cable run; be sure to calculate generously as you don't want to come up short when you're wiring your house. For runs up to 20 feet, JBL recommends using 16-gauge cable. For runs up to 30 feet, use 12-gauge cable, and for runs greater than 30 feet you'll want beefy 10-gauge cable to minimize high-frequency signal loss. SoundPoint Series loudspeakers can be painted to match any decor. If you wish to change their color, the satin finish on the grille and frame will function as a primer coat. Integrated dog-ear brackets are helpful in retrofit applications. Optional snap-together rough-in frames (RIF6) are available separately for new construction. What's in the Box Two speakers with grilles, a template/paint shield, a user's manual, and warranty information

Lost Money on transaction! August 16, 2010 Steve Burrill I wouldn't know how to rate the product because I never received it although I did purchase it. I order a pair of JBL in-wall speakers and a pair of JBL i-nceiling speakers. I received two pair of the in-ceiling speakers. When I called Electronics Expo about this problem, they told me they were out of the in-wall speakers so they sent my another set of in-ceiling speakers, but charged me for the more expensive in-wall speakers. That's just poor business practice. I returned them (which did go smoothly, they paid for shipping). However they, refunded me the lower price of the in-ceiling speakers so I lost about $25 on the deal. I could get it back if I tried I am sure, but too much of a headache at this point.
Great sound March 1, 2010 J. Patterson (Glen Mills, PA, USA) I use these for my front surround speakers as part of a 7.1 system.
they sound great and where easy to install.
I found out it doesn't pay to go cheap the 1st ones i installed where and they sounded like crap.
these where a good balance of quality and price.
JBL in-walls KICK AS* June 11, 2008 Custom-Media Crib (Dallas, Texas US) This is the 2ND TIME I have bought these babies... once in my old home that sold a couple of years ago, and just now for my new place. The product itself performs very well. The midrange, along with the titanium tweeter are awesome - either as Front/Drivers (first home) putting out some good volume-sound or as quality surround-speakers, which is what I used them for this time. Doesn't matter if you like/listen to Classical Music, to Hard-Rock, to THX-surround or Jazz. These speakers DELIVER !! Easy to install, nice finish, spring-clips for quick connect, Template for wall-cutout... WHAM - done! What ELSE do you want / need ??
Easy installation March 19, 2007 W. Caudillo These speakers have good sound and installed very easily. They are an affordable option to a great sounding home theater.
Great value January 10, 2007 Chris R. (Fresno, CA) I bought these to serve as the front and rear channel speakers in a home theatre installation. Moving around in the attic wasn't fun, but the actual installation of the speakers was painless once the wire was run. The sound quality produced by the speakers is amazing considering the price. I will be buying a few more pair for a whole house audio system.
